GCK Mobility, a pioneer in the retrofitting of heavy vehicles in France, has been chosen by SUEZ, a world leader in circular solutions in water and waste, as part of its collection services contract with the Grand Paris Sud Est Avenir Territory, for the transformation of two thermal household waste bins into vehicles equipped with hydrogen fuel cells.
This retrofit project aims to transform two Renault D-Wide 26-tonne household waste collection vehicles into zero-emission vehicles. These vehicles will be equipped with a hydrogen fuel cell powering batteries developed and produced by GCK Battery and will benefit from a hydrogen storage capacity of 17 kg, guaranteeing optimal autonomy for daily collection operations.
This innovative solution combines the advantages of all-electric (zero emissions, reduced noise pollution) with the flexibility of hydrogen and guarantees the maintenance of the conditions of use compared to the thermal version. Delivery of the vehicles is planned from autumn 2025 after approval in the second quarter.

GCK Mobility thus confirms its role as an accelerator of innovative public policies in terms of decarbonization. The company has already been chosen by the Urban Community of Dunkirk and the Community of Auxerrois to transform their fleet of household waste bins and ampliroll, demonstrating the relevance of its retrofit technology for local authorities.
