Greenstat, H2Carrier plan South Asian hydrogen, ammonia partnership
Norwegian floating green ammonia production specialist H2Carrier AS and Greenstat Hydrogen India (GHI), a unit of Norwegian renewable energy firm Greenstat ASA, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore collaboration on green hydrogen and ammonia projects in India and Sri Lanka.The partnership will focus on identifying potential projects, conducting feasibility studies and implementing production facilities. There will be a particular focus on utilising H2Carrier's P2XFloater technology for floating production solutions, a press statement says.“The collaboration between GHI and H2Carrier aims to address the growing demand for green ammonia as a clean fuel and energy carrier while supporting industrial decarbonisation in sectors such as shipping, agriculture and heavy industries,” said H2Carrier's CEO Marten Lunde.Greenstat Hydrogen India (GHI) was established in 2020 to focus on the development of green hydrogen and its derivatives in Asia and the Middle East.H2Carrier's P2XFloater is touted as the world’s first floating unit for green ammonia production at an industrial scale. According to the company, it is flexible in its positioning and does not require leasing or purchasing land, storage tanks, pier construction or constructional and operational concessions.
