TRIG's wind farms to power 20-MW electrolyser in France
The Renewables Infrastructure Group Ltd (LON:TRIG) has clinched a deal to supply wind power for the production of Hyd'Occ’s proposed green hydrogen facility at the Port-la Nouvelle in France.The power purchase agreement (PPA) will see TRIG deliver electricity from its onshore wind parks in Occitanie region, the British firm said on Thursday without disclosing specific details about the off-take arrangement.Hyd'Occ is a joint venture of French renewable power producer Qair and regional energy transition agency Arec Occitanie. The company is currently building a 20-MW green hydrogen facility, which will be equipped with the technology of Norway-based Nel Hydrogen Electrolyser AS and is expected to produce roughly 3,000 tonnes annually. The site’s commissioning is scheduled for this year.The hydrogen plant will be the first phase of a larger project that will reach 50 MW in size. Hyd'Occ intends to ramp up the production to 6,000 tonnes by 2030, using electricity from 90 MW local renewable energy parks.
