Jönköping Energi commissions three bio-oil powered boilers
In Sweden, municipal energy utility Jönköping Energi AB has announced that it has commissioned three new and larger boilers at Ryhov County Hospital. With a combined capacity of 48 MW, it strengthens Jönköping Energi's ability to secure heat supply to the hospital and the rest of the district heating network in the event of heat supply disruptions to the network.
In connection with the upgrade, two older boilers have been replaced with three new ones, each with a thermal output of 16 MW.
This means both increased thermal capacity and greater flexibility in production.
We are doing this to secure the backup supply in our network. It is about having a safe and stable solution that can support society’s most important functions when it is really needed, said Rebecka Finnström, Project Manager at Jönköping Energi.
The new boilers will be an important part of ensuring a secure energy supply to Ryhov County Hospital – both in everyday life and in times of crisis.
With the new boilers, we also have the opportunity to use more environmentally friendly oils in our production, which is an important step in reducing our climate impact, ended Rebecka Finnström.
