Vissers Energy Group gets €5 million subsidy for hydrogen development

Vissers Energy Group and its consortium partners are proud to have received the news that the Hydrogen in Mobility Subsidy (SWIM) has been awarded to their joint initiative. This subsidy has a total value of almost €5 million. Part of this amount will be used for the realization of a large-scale hydrogen filling station in Venlo, while €4 million will be spent on the purchase of hydrogen-powered vehicles by our logistics partners.

With this project, the consortium, consisting of E-Lions, SJT Venlo BV, Looop Logistics BV, Nijsen Company, Medicura, Connect Autolease and other progressive parties, is taking a pioneering role in the transition to sustainable mobility in Limburg and the Netherlands.

Important step for hydrogen in the Netherlands

In addition to our consortium, there are several national partnerships that are supported with this subsidy. This shows that hydrogen is increasingly seen as a serious and feasible solution for zero-emission mobility. Hydrogen offers advantages for heavy transport over long distances and is an attractive option for companies that struggle with grid congestion.

The realization of the hydrogen filling station in Venlo and the use of hydrogen vehicles contributes to the acceleration of the energy transition, not only in Limburg, but also in the Netherlands. This project emphasizes the power of collaboration and innovation, and forms a springboard for further developments in the field of hydrogen.

On November 27th, the consortium members came together for an inspiring meeting. This was not only an opportunity to get to know each other better, but especially to share knowledge and insights. During the meeting, various car manufacturers and Vissers Energy Group gave fascinating presentations, kicking off a promising collaboration around hydrogen as a sustainable mobility solution.
