ULEMCo is taking hydrogen on the road—literally—with the launch of its new mobile refuelling unit, HyTANKa®. Built to work just like a traditional diesel bowser, this game-changing vehicle delivers high-pressure hydrogen—up to 350 bar—straight to heavy-duty off-road machinery right where it’s needed. The twist? It runs on a hydrogen dual-fuel engine. It’s a big leap toward solving one of the biggest hurdles in hydrogen adoption: the serious lack of on-site fuelling options. With HyTANKa®, rolling out hydrogen-powered equipment across construction and industrial sites just got a whole lot easier.
Field-tested hydrogen delivery that gets the job done
The new system has already proven it can deliver in the real world. During its trial with the UK’s Element 1 project, HyTANKa® refuelled massive 20-tonne hydrogen-powered excavators quickly and with no fuss. It’s certified road-legal under ADR regulations, which means it fits seamlessly into existing logistics operations—no crazy workarounds or special permissions required.
Official launch happening June 5, 2025
ULEMCo will officially unveil HyTANKa® to industry leaders and innovators at the HEA 2025 Annual Conference in London. It’s another big moment for a company that’s been at the forefront of hydrogen dual-fuel technology, especially in emergency response and municipal fleets.
Heavy industries meet hydrogen
HyTANKa® isn’t just a cool piece of tech—it’s a practical step forward in industrial decarbonization. By making hydrogen more accessible on-site, especially for sectors that are traditionally tough to decarbonize, ULEMCo is helping push the UK closer to its zero-emission technology and sustainable energy goals. This is exactly the kind of hydrogen infrastructure we need to see more of if we’re going to hit net-zero targets—and ULEMCo is leading the charge.
