India Accelerates Nuclear Energy Mission With INR 20,000 Crore Push For Indigenous Small Modular Reactors
India has launched the Nuclear Energy Mission, allocating ₹20,000 crore to develop Small Modular Reactors (SMRs), with aims to commission at least five by 2033. Led by BARC, two Pressurized Water Reactor designs and a High Temperature Gas Cooled Reactor are being developed to bolster energy security and support clean energy goals.
