Masdar, Lhyfe plan to co-develop green hydrogen projects in Europe

UAE's renewables developer Masdar and French green hydrogen producer Lhyfe (EPA:LHYFE) have signed a memorandum of understanding to assess potential co-development opportunities in large-scale green hydrogen production projects in Europe.The companies will explore collaboration and investment opportunities across the green hydrogen value chain, with a focus on large projects, Lhyfe said.The memorandum was signed at Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025.The envisaged collaboration is in line with Lhyfe's strategy to “co-develop projects with financial, industrial investors and experienced partners”.Lhyfe already has four installed green hydrogen production sites in Europe. The company’s pipeline represents a total installed capacity of 9.5 GW and includes several large-scale projects at advanced stages.Masdar aims to be a leading producer of green hydrogen, targeting annual production of 1 million tonnes of the green fuel or equivalent derivatives in the UAE and globally within a decade.
