Earlier this month, the National Energy System Operator (NESO) published its timeline for delivering connections reform across 2025, aiming to provide clarity and certainty to developers as soon as possible.
Developers and Distribution Network Operators can submit evidence of their project’s maturity between the 8th and the 29th of July. This transmission evidence submission window is vital in order to position your project in the re-ordered connection queue, which will be re-organised after the 29th of July.
NESO note that due to the thousands of applications that will need to be reviewed and reordered, it is essential to ensure that developers are fully engaged and up to date on the actions they need to undertake. To support this, alongside the Evidence Handbook published in May, NESO is running weekly webinars, publishing on-demand videos and regularly updating their FAQs.
New connection agreements will begin being issued from the autumn, prioritising projects that are both urgently needed and ready to deliver, aligning with the national goal of Clean Power by 2030.
