Launched at the Global Offshore Wind conference by the Offshore Wind Industry Council, a new investment guide outlines the wide range of support available to grow the UK’s offshore wind supply chain. It explains how both public and private finance can help businesses invest, expand and contribute to a cleaner energy future.
The guide draws on the Industrial Growth Plan and highlights the many organisations offering financial support for supply chain development, notably for Wales, the Welsh Government and the Development Bank of Wales. It aims to help businesses understand where and how they can access support for every stage of the project lifecycle.
Other providers include:
- Great British Energy
- National Wealth Fund
- Offshore Wind Growth Partnership
- The Crown Estate
- UK Freeports
- UK Export Finance
- Scottish National Investment Bank
- Scottish Enterprise
- Highland and Islands Enterprise
- South of Scotland Enterprise
Alongside naming these providers, the guide also explains:
- What kind of financial help each one offers
- Which stages of a project they can support—from planning and construction to long-term operation
- Real examples of how companies have used this support to grow their offshore wind work
Ultimately, the guide is designed to help businesses understand what’s available and give them confidence to invest in the UK’s offshore wind future.
