Quest One, known for its cutting-edge work in PEM electrolyzer technology, is teaming up with MasTec Clean Energy & Infrastructure (CE&I), a major name in the U.S. when it comes to EPC work. The two companies have struck a deal—a memorandum of understanding—to push forward the rollout of green hydrogen infrastructure across North America.
Building smarter, faster, and at scale
So, what’s the goal here? It’s all about building big, industrial-scale hydrogen production facilities—faster, more efficiently, and at lower cost. Their strategy leans heavily on prefabricated, modular PEM electrolyzer systems that can grow from 10 MW to several hundred MW depending on what’s needed. That flexibility means shorter build times, fewer surprises during construction, and a much smoother scale-up process.
Why now? Policy and demand are driving change
This partnership comes at a time when both public support and industrial demand—especially in sectors like steelmaking and transportation—are creating serious momentum behind zero-emission technology. Governments and industries alike are under pressure to decarbonize, and green hydrogen, made through clean electrolysis, is becoming a big part of the conversation.
Two companies, one shared vision
With Quest One’s manufacturing hub in Hamburg and MasTec’s deep construction know-how, the partnership brings together the right mix of innovation and practical experience. They’re laying the foundation for a repeatable model—one that could speed up hydrogen infrastructure projects all over the region. No specific projects have been named just yet, but the wheels are clearly in motion, and this could be a game-changer for the future of zero-emission fuel.
