Top End Energy (ASX:TEE) has selected its first well site for the Serpentine Natural Hydrogen Project in Kansas, marking a key step toward drilling operations.
The location was chosen based on structural features within the hydrogen generation zone and newly released data from Koloma’s exploration wells.
Negotiations with landowners for surface use agreements, site surveying, and road access are underway.
Meanwhile, well engineering efforts are progressing, with consultants engaged for well design and data acquisition, targeting a depth of 5,500 feet in the Precambrian basement.
According to Luke Velterop, Vice President of US Operations, the company is leveraging data from Koloma’s Balsmeier, Carlson, and Hedge Lawn wells to refine drilling strategies.
Top End Energy holds exclusive exploration rights across 25,000 acres in Kansas’ Marshall, Riley, and Washington counties and plans to expand its lease holding to 30,000 acres.
An independent resource assessment will soon be conducted to evaluate the project’s full potential and guide future drilling priorities.
At the time of reporting, Top End Energy’s share price was $0.086.
