Balmoral Tanks launches operations in the US
UK-headed Balmoral Tanks Ltd, a Balmoral Group company and a leading producer of digester tanks for anaerobic digestion (AD) plants, has announced that it is expanding its production capabilities into the United States with the launch of its US business and the opening of its operations facility in Northeast Ohio in summer 2025.

The Ohio facility will exclusively supply epoxy-coated steel tanks under the “efusion” brand, a proprietary Balmoral Tanks in-house steel panel epoxy coating.
Over the past 45 years, Balmoral Tanks has established a proven global track record of quality, efficiency, and providing outstanding levels of customer service, which we look forward to continuing as we design, manufacture, and install AD tanks for our US customers. With the launch of the US business and the opening of our operations facility in Ohio, we will employ approximately 20 team members as we grow our business in a market we see as having huge potential, said Allan Joyce, President, Balmoral Tanks LLC.
Third operations facility
The 16,600-square-foot state-of-the-art facility in Mentor, Ohio, is Balmoral Tanks’ third operations facility, with additional locations in England and Wales—all representing some of the most technologically advanced facilities in the industry.
The company is investing around US$2 million into the US facility, making a total of US$30 million invested in Balmoral Tanks’ business since 2018.
Our ‘Made in the U.S.A’ Balmoral-built tanks will be the same high-quality, durable, and cost-effective solutions that have been trusted by our domestic and international customers for over four decades, and that they specifically request, said Allan Joyce.
The company produces what it believes to be the “most comprehensive range” of tank and digester products from a single source, including some of the largest digesters for multi-tank AD plants.
Recently, it supplied two 11,500 m3 tanks—among the biggest in the world—for a major AD project in Michigan.
Producing our epoxy-coated steel tanks in America enables us to cultivate and enhance American customer relationships, reduce logistics costs, and meet increasing demand as the U.S. biogas sector continues to grow. For our US customers, that means lower shipping costs, faster delivery, and decreased risk of transportation delays, said Paul Tattershall, General Manager of Balmoral Tanks’ US business.
