Nanoramic launches an eight-product catalog of NXSP binders for Li-ion electrodes
Battery materials company Nanoramic has released a product catalog of eight NXSP electrode materials: four grades for lithium-ion cathodes and four for silicon anodes. The NXSP products are designed as drop-in materials for mass production.
The cathode series uses an ultra-high solid content slurry and is designed to increase energy density and lower manufacturing cost. The grades are compatible with various nickel-based cathode active materials (CAMs) and are free of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
- NXSP 310Y is intended for single-crystal nickel cobalt manganese (NCM), nickel cobalt aluminum (NCA) and nickel cobalt manganese aluminum (NCMA) active materials.
- NXSP 330Y is optimized for high-loading NCM, NCA and NCMA electrodes and uses a dual-carbon network to improve power performance.
- NXSP 350Y is intended for polycrystalline NCM, NCA and NCMA and is designed for high power and low cell resistance.
- NXSP 370Y is intended for lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and is designed to support high mass loading at a lower processing cost.
The silicon anode series is designed to improve the trade-off between energy density and swelling in silicon-carbon (Si-C) anodes, so that more energy fits within a constrained cell volume.

NXSP 620Z and 640Z are designed for 20–50% Si-C, and 660Z and 680Z for 50–100% Si-C. NXSP 620Z provides mechanical robustness for Si-C expansion in high-loading electrodes, and 640Z uses a high-rate conductive network to lower electrode resistance. NXSP 660Z uses a low-resistance conductive architecture for high mass loadings, and 680Z is designed to maximize electron transport for fast charging.
As Nanoramic explains, the ultra-high solid content of the cathode slurry allows faster coating and lower drying energy. The cathode grades are also designed to improve electrode flexibility and mechanical integrity.
Nanoramic says the anode materials maintain conductivity as the Si-C expands and better withstand volume changes. They are also designed to reduce polarization and to support longer cycle life and fast charging.
“The release of our standard product catalog was a necessary step to serve the broadening demand we are receiving across all key applications. This product standardization along with the mass production capacity we brought online earlier this year positions us for rapid, organic growth,” said John Cooley, Nanoramic’s founder and CEO.
