H3 Dynamics and XSun Team Up on Breakthrough Tribrid Drone

H3 Dynamics is joining forces with XSun to launch something that’s never been done before—a tribrid propulsion unmanned aircraft system (UAS). This cutting-edge drone combines three powerful technologies: hydrogen fuel cells, solar panels, and rechargeable batteries. Built on XSun’s SolarXOne platform, the prototype is set to take off for test flights in Toulouse, France in October 2025.

This tribrid setup is all about maximizing performance and efficiency. The drone uses batteries to lift off, switches to hydrogen power for cruising, and taps into solar energy to stretch its time in the air. The result? A longer flight range and a smaller carbon footprint—checking all the boxes for sustainable energy and next-gen aviation.

Toulouse to Host New Fuel Cell Facility from H3 Dynamics

But the innovation doesn’t stop with the drone. H3 Dynamics plans to open a certified fuel cell production facility in Toulouse by the end of 2025. It’s a big move that puts France one step closer to the front of the pack in the race for zero-emission technology in aviation.
