Hydrogen Infrastructure: Clean Energy Fuels to Build OCTA’s Garden Grove Hydrogen Refueling Station

Clean Energy Fuels Corp., based in Newport Beach, California, has just landed a hefty $27.5 million contract with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA). Their mission? To design, build, operate, and fuel a state-of-the-art liquid hydrogen station at OCTA’s Garden Grove bus base. This development is a game changer as OCTA looks to expand its hydrogen fuel cell bus fleet from a ten-bus pilot to at least fifty by the time this station goes live in 2028. With this project, Clean Energy will provide a comprehensive solution that includes everything from facility upgrades and cryogenic supply to automated dispensing and ongoing maintenance, all aimed at helping the region achieve its zero-emission transit goals.
