Prominence Energy Limited Reports Hydrogen Indicators from Eyre Peninsula Study

Prominence Energy Limited has disclosed the results of work from its Eyre Peninsula project in South Australia. An independent study, conducted by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO), detected hydrogen in all 28 rock samples collected from the region. That finding sits at the centre of Prominence’s efforts to test whether natural hydrogen is being generated and trapped within the local geology. The company says the result provides an early line of evidence to justify further, more detailed study.

Project Overview

Prominence Energy, traded on the ASX under the ticker PRM, has placed natural hydrogen exploration alongside helium and other energy opportunities within its portfolio. The Eyre Peninsula effort is concentrated within Petroleum Exploration Licence 803 (PEL 803), a licence area that covers approximately 64,000 square kilometers within the Gawler Craton. Geologically, the permit sits in a region that Prominence and its advisers have identified as having systems that may generate and trap natural hydrogen.
